Reactec is the award-winning UK market leader in the provision of monitoring devices of Hand Arm Vibration (HAV) risk - the cause of one of the most common industrial diseases in the UK, Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome (HAVS) and also known as Vibration White Finger. Reactec’s monitors are supported with an advanced cloud based analytics platform to allow the monitored data to support informed HAV exposure management processes.

Established in 2001 as a spin- out from Edinburgh University, Reactec started out as a vibration engineering consultancy. Upon the HSE’s release of the Control of Vibrations at Work Regulations 2005; Reactec engineers commenced development of a hi-tech yet practical solution, which would better support health protection for the worker as well as real cost benefits for the employer. Using vast engineering and vibration experience the HAVmeter monitoring device was developed and launched in 2008 and soon established as the global market- leader in Hand Arm Vibration monitoring.

Reactec has continuously developed their technology platform for organisations to not only simplify but more effectively assess and manage exposure risk. Reactec provide exposure data online and the ability to track the effectiveness of risk reduction activity via their Analytics Platform. The next generation monitor, released in 2016, is a wearable wrist worn device called HAVwear. HAVwear has a unique ability to further improve protection against exposure risk by determining the real-time vibration exposure experienced by the wearer.
